History
Venema Automation BV was founded in 1953 as an instrument maker for the medical industry. Gradually the switch was made to the beet sugar industry in the 1960s when it all started with coming up with a solution for an almost unsolvable issue.

It happened in the laboratory where beet pulp analyses were and are still being carried out. These analyses are a part of the beetanalysing process where supplied beet ane sampled in bulk. The tare percentage (the non-sugar-containing part) is determined of this sample, which is then analysed to check for sugar and extraction factors.

This approach has now lead to a leading position within the global (beet) sugar industry and this system integration process is now used as an international standard. Although the aforementioned (beet) sugar market is our most important market, we have now broadened our field of activity through a number of alternative markets due to our knowledge and experience (in partnership with knowledge centres).

Venema Automation is being called in more and more often within this framework to offer turnkey solutions for the most divergent industrial processes.
